David Brown Gear Systems Group sells its Applied Products business as part of global growth strategy

David Brown Gear Systems Group ("David Brown"), a leading manufacturer of gearing products and services, today confirms that it has completed the sale of its Applied Products business to the Elecon Group, ("Elecon") based in India.

David Brown will now focus fully on areas that it has identified as strategic and high growth and will continue to align its global resources according to the following seven strategic business units; Wind, Mining, Rail, Aftermarket, Oil & Gas, Conventional Power and Solar.

The Board of David Brown believes that the Applied Products business, which includes Radicon, Benzlers and a facility in Thailand, will benefit significantly from Elecon’s ownership through increased investment, the ability to fully utilise the Group’s extensive supply chain and to leverage the strength of its brands.
