David Brown Launches New Service Centre In Antofagasta, Chile

The service centre in Antofagasta will be the first David Brown facility to open in South America, with two more planned over the next twelve months. It will offer sales, service and engineering, with support from a dedicated team in Santiago.

The facility will focus on servicing and overhauling gearboxes for the South American mining industry however it will also be capable of from a wide range of industries including oil and gas, sugar and cement. This new service centre will provide an easy access to David Brown’s experience and world class service and will focus on the repair, service and upgrade of geared transmissions for applications such as conveyors, SAG/AG mills, agitators, flotation tanks, among many others. It will also offer spars, drop-in replacement and total asset management.
For some years now, David Brown has successfully serviced the mining industry through its established service and manufacturing facilities strategically located in diverse mining regions of South Africa and Australia.

The expansion into South America is part of David Brown’s strategy to provide a global network of sales and service centres to serve key markets with locally employed specialist teams. Over the past year due to increased demand David Brown has already expanded its existing service capacity in South Africa and Australia. For the launch of David Brown Chile and its new service centre, David Brown Gear Systems has joined forces with local company Summit Mining and its owner Adam Clarke who offers a wealth of market knowledge, experience and deep customer relationships with key mining operators in the region.
